Welcome to the Terryville Public Library's 2017 Summer Reading Program! If you have any questions about registration, logging minutes, or completing challenges, please call the library at (860) 582-3121 or email tplchild@biblio.org.

 How it works:

READING: Log the amount of time you spend reading. For every hour you read, you'll earn a ticket.

CHALLENGES: Complete the weekly challenges. The majority of the challenges have four parts to them. You'll earn a ticket for each completed challenge. New challenges will be released weekly. Challenges do not expire. You have until the end of the program to do them.

You'll be notified when you've earned a ticket whether it's for reading or completing challenges.

Stop by the library to receive the tickets you earned and enter them into our end-of-the-summer drawing!  (You can also get an up close and personal look at the prizes you could win!  Each ticket is a chance to win one of the prizes!)

Come in as often as you like! The last day to earn tickets and enter them into our drawing is Wednesday, August 9. When you visit the library, be sure to tell a librarian that you registered online. Every participant receives a folder of information and goodies as well as a ticket just for signing up!

Build a Better World

This year’s theme isn’t just about construction. It’s about being kind and getting involved in order to make a positive change. To promote giving back to the community, children can donate some, all, or none of their tickets toward the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) located in Terryville. Every donated ticket counts as 25 cents. At the end of the program, the library will add up all the donated tickets and donate that amount to ARF.

No one is required to donate their tickets, and there is no pressure to do so. The library’s number one goal is still for kids to spend the summer reading, thinking critically and creatively, and having fun.

ARF is a non-profit, non-destroy shelter for animals. More information can be found on their website:
