Children's Summer Reading Program
Welcome to Portland Library's Summer 2017 Reading Program for Children! It'll be an exciting summer!
For every 140 minutes that you read this summer (that's 20 minutes per day for 7 days!), you will earn 2 Book Bucks. These Book Bucks can be redeemed at the Portland Library for small prizes, saved to earn bigger prizes such as books, or donated in the "piggy bank" at the library to be used towards our mission of supplying books for children in Africa.
We have a TON of AWESOME programs going on this summer. For a complete list and to register, click on the CALENDAR to see Portland Library's activities.
Try our challenges during the summer for extra thinking and extra fun!
Log into your account and CLICK on the Challenges Tab on the MENU above.
Governor's Summer Reading Challenge
We can print your reading logs for you at the end of the summer so you can hand them in to your teacher or school librarian for the Governor's Summer Reading Challenge. You can also print your logs from home. See any Portland Library staff member for assistance.
Thanks to the Friends of the Portland Library for supporting the programs and activities.
Ebooks: Have a Kindle, Nook, or other tablet? You can now borrow library books on it! Check out these three services when you don't have time to get to the library!
