Reading by Design! Bloomingdale Public Library (IL) Adult Summer Reading Program
Thursday, June 1 - Saturday, July 29

  • Registration begins Thursday, June 1. After registering, you'll receive our custom t-shirt, compliments of BPL and the Friends of the Bloomingdale Public Library (while supplies last).
  • For every book you log between June 1-July 29, youll receive an entry into our final drawing.
  • NEW THIS YEAR: Read a book from our Reading by Design display for extra entries into the final drawing! Read a display book, log it as a challenge title, and get more chances to win.
  • Log books and challenges from June 12 - July 29. To log your titles, go online or stop at the Reference Desk.
  • After reading five books, youll receive a chalkboard mug prize. Keep reading for additional entries into the final drawing.
  • Final drawing winners will be announced at the Ice Cream Social on Thursday, August 3!
  • Weekly prize drawings will also be held throughout the summer. You’re automatically entered for weekly drawings when you register.
  • The Summer Reading Program is open to Bloomingdale residents only.

Grand Prize
$100 gift card to one of the following stores: Ikea, Blick Art Materials, Michael’s, Jo-Ann, Home Depot, or Target

Final Prizes
- $20 gift card to Platt Hill Nursery

Romper Rhymes is a language enrichment program in which nursery rhymes, songs, and fingerplays are shared with babies and their parents or caregivers. Storytime is followed by a brief play session with age-appropriate toys. Registration is required and begins on Tuesday, May 30.

Budding Readers is designed to prepare toddlers and their parents or caregivers for Time for Twos storytime. The program includes stories and nursery rhymes, fingerplays, flannel board stories, baby sign language, and music. Registration is required and begins on Tuesday, May 30.

2017-07-28 Thu, Jul 27, 2017 -- Genealogy Club at 6:30 PM

Genealogy Club meets on the fourth Thursday of the month - except in December - from 6:30 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. Local History Librarians provide internet and archival genealogy instruction and research support. Members share ideas and meet other researchers, receive help with research questions and brick wall dilemmas, and share genealogy finds. Use of the genealogy collection in the Local History Department and individual help and instruction is also available.
