Long winters are the perfect time to read! Join our Adult & Teen Winter Reading Challenge for a chance to win an iPad Mini!

Reading prize drawing – Log one book, earn one entry. All books count!
Challenge prize drawing – Log one book that fits a challenge, earn one entry. Read books in different genres and subjects to complete challenges. Pick and choose your challenges or complete them all; it’s up to you!

Adults and teens can sign up and log books in person or online here. The final day to submit books is Friday, February 8.

The Winter Reading Challenge is open to Bloomingdale residents only. 

Please note: Participants can log books for both the reading and challenge prize drawings. Patrons are eligible to win one final drawing prize. If a duplicate winner is drawn, an alternate winner will be chosen.

This is a storytime with music, movement, activities, and crafts for the preschool age child. In order to foster the child’s independence and emerging listening skills, caregivers and siblings are asked to remain outside the program during storytime. This is a drop-in program, limited to the first 20 children.

A friendly introduction to computer topics aimed at senior citizens. Lots of guided hands on practice and time for questions. In this session we’ll be learning about tablets and smart phones. Students will be provided iPads or they are welcome to work on their own devices.

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) provides presentations to older adults and people with disabilities to learn how to use public transportation. The following topics will be discussed: trip planning, accessibility on Pace and Metra, safety tips, fare programs and local transit options. There will be time for questions and signing up a for a RTA Reduced Fare card to get half off on Metra, Pace and CTA, if eligible. It is a one-stop shop for all your public transportation needs! Hand-outs and maps will be provided.
