Welcome to the Teen Summer Reading Program. We challenge you to read 5 books this summer. When you read 5 books you will get a free book and a Grand Prize raffle ticket for a chance to win our grand prize! Also, stop by the library each week to enter our weekly raffles. For each book you read, Challenge you complete, and library program you attend, you will earn more raffle tickets to enter into any of our weekly raffles for a better chance to win. Pick up an information flyer at the Youth Services Desk for a list of all of the prizes. You can start logging your reading on June 25th! The last day to pick up prizes will be August 17th. For questions or reading suggestions, talk to Teen Librarian Stephanie.

When: Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Where: Children's Quiet Reading Area

We'll have our legos out for free-play for ages 5 and up in our quiet reading area. Parents bringing younger siblings need to be vigilant with their little ones to prevent choking. No registration is required.

2018-06-22 Table-Top Games & Chess for kids

When: Friday, June 29, 2018 - 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Where: Children's Quiet Reading Area

Kids, Tweens, and Teens ages 6 and up are invited to come play chess. If you haven't played before, we will teach you! Planning, confidence, patience and discipline are all benefits of playing chess. We just think it's fun! No registration required.

2018-06-22 Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda Book Discussion

When: Saturday, June 30, 2018 - 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: Community Room

We will be discussing the award winning book Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, which the movie Love, Simon was based off of. There will be copies of the book available at the library for check out. We will also be meeting again in July 2018 to watch the movie at the library! This book discussion will be for high school and college students.

2018-06-22 A Library Musical: Script Writing

When: Monday, July 2, 2018 - 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Where: NJ History Room

Participate in this inventive musical experience. We will be writing our own musical, using popular songs that already exist and tying them together to make one seamless story. Use your writing skills, creativity, and musical skills for this fun experience. Everyone will get a part, and everyone will get a chance to sing. Led by Teen Librarian, and certified vocal music teacher, Stephanie. On Mondays we will be writing the script and on Thursdays we will be practicing the music. Make sure to sign up for both the Monday Writing sessions and the Thursday Vocal sessions.
