Tales and Tails
9 to 11 Years Old--
"Tiger"iffic Tweens

This summer you have from June 7- July 31 to complete your reading goals!

Royal Reading Goals:

  • Readers have 8 weeks (June 7 –  July 31) to read 20 minutes a day/ 5 days each week. There are three reading destinations this year, one every two weeks  (200 minutes per challenge).
  • You may use picture books (E), Easy Readers (JE), Junior Fiction (JF), Junior Graphic Novels (JG), Teen Fiction (TW), Tween Graphic Novels (TWG), or magazines.
  • Digital and audio books are also allowed. Biblionasium and Libby are available for free at www.madisonlib.org/tween-scene/.
  • Each "Tigger"iffic Reading Goal has additional activities or challenges you can choose to do in place of TWO 20-minute reading sessions; each one may be used only once per challenge. For example, you may count "Walk a dog or brush a cat" only once.  Make sure you log 20 minutes of reading under the "BOOKS" tab for each additional activity completed! For the "book title" just put in the name of the challenge completed.
  • Then... come to the Madison Library District Community Room when you have completed a "Tigger"iffic Reading Goal to receive a prize. You can collect a new prize every two weeks!

Prizes will be awarded according to this schedule:

  • June 7 -- Summer Reading 2021 BEGINS!
  • June 21 --  Reading Goal Prize 1 available
  • July 6 -- Reading Goal Prize 2 available
  • July 19 -- Reading Goal Prize 3 available
  • July 26 -- Last day to sign up for Summer Reading 2020
  • July 31 -- Summer Reading Ends

You can read ahead of schedule, but prizes won’t be available until their release date. If you miss a week, you can collect it the next time.

For example, if you come in July 6, and haven’t received any prizes yet, you can pick up prize number 1 and 2.  If you’ve read past that point, and are ready for prize 3, you’ll have to wait until July 19 to get the next prize.

Don't worry if you miss a prize! Come to the library when you are available and collect your prize for the previous weeks.
Program may not be repeated!
Only 1 set of prizes per person per summer while supplies last.
NO PRIZES will be given after Saturday, July 31, 202.
