2020-07-09 Cooking Capers: Smoothies & Summer Snacks

Imagine your story with yummy smoothies and snacks on Facebook Live at 2 PM on Thursdays for the next 8 weeks from Marcia Parcell for the Lawrenceburg Public Library.

June 25th Apple Pie in a Glass You will need milk, vanilla yogurt, 2 large apples, cinnamon, and ice cubes.  You will need a knife, blender, and glasses or cups to serve this smoothie.

July 2nd Red, White, and Blue Surprise  You will need watermelon, lime juice, sugar, orange juice, blueberries, vanilla or lemon nonfat yogurt.

July 9th Green Day You will need banana, green grapes, pineapple, kiwi, baby spinach, plain or key lime yogurt, apple or lime juice, ice cubes.   You will need a blender or food processor and glasses or cups to serve the smoothie.

July 16th 3-2-1 Microwave Magic You will need a cake mix (white, yellow, chocolate, strawberry, etc.) and an angel food cake mix.  You will also need a large sealable container, coffee mug that is microwaveable, microwave, water, whisk or fork, fresh fruit, ice cream, and imagination.

July 23rd Sweet Relief and Smoothie Challenge Results  You will need honeydew, 2 kiwis, and English cucumber

July 30th Taco Thursday You will need a can of black or red beans, corn, salsa, meat (fish, beef, chicken), taco seasoning, tortillas, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese, and imagination.

2020-07-10 LEGO Masters Building Challenge: Family Edition

Are you a master builder? A LEGO fanatic?

Fridays in July, check our Facebook page for a new LEGO Masters Building Challenge! Then, during the following week, email a picture of your building creation to youthserv@lpld.lib.in.us  We will showcase them the following Friday and unveil our new challenge.

If you do not have LEGOs at your house, use whatever you can to build your creation!

2020-07-10 Virtual Dungeons & Dragons

Virtual D&D at the Library is coming this summer! To tie into the Summer Reading Quest theme for 2020, our campaign will draw inspiration from fairy tales. We will hold sessions on Fridays from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, beginning on June 5. If you are 18 years old or above and wish to participate, please send us a private message or register online. 2020-07-11 Virtual: Writing Fantasy

Have you ever wanted to learn how to write a great fantasy novel? Stephen Leigh will give a presentation on "Writing Fantasy" on July 11 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM. Steve has published several fantasy novels with DAW Books, both under his pseudonym "S.L. Farrell" and his own name. His most recent fantasy novels are THE CROW OF CONNEMARA (2015) and the duology A FADING SUN (2017) and A RISING MOON (2018). Publishers Weekly called him ""... one of the strongest voices in fantasy" and his work has been nominated for and won several awards.
