Participants in the Summer Reading Program will earn credit for time spent reading, participation in programs, and by officially registering for the program.  Participants who earn credit will be eligible to win prizes that we have collected from local merchants and donors.  All participants will be eligible to win prizes but those with the most credit will have the greatest chance of winning. 

Weekly Programs to be offered:

Summer Time Crafts (10 am ) [Mondays: July 10, 17, 24, 31; Aug 7, 14]. Each week we will be creating a new craft for kids take home.  Ideas include Inspirational Splatter Painting, Troll vs. Aliens, Rock Painting, Fairy Lanterns and  more. (Ages  8+)

Story Hour and Crafts: Birth to 4 years (10 am ): [Tuesdays: July 11, 18, 25; Aug 1, 8].  Engage with fun interactive games, stories and create crafts. 

Build a Better World: Ages 5-8 (10 am) Ages 9-15 (1 pm) :[Wednesdays: July 12, 19, 26; Aug 2, 9]. Engage with fun           interactive games, stories, challenges and create crafts. 

Literacy Legos (4 pm): [Thurs.  July 6, 13, 20, 27; Aug 3, 10, 17, 24, 31] Unleash your inner architect and design your own Lego Masterpiece.

KICK OFF : July 5 (10:00 am)  Summer starts off with a bang at our Summer Reading Kick-Off.  Join us for a Magic show performed by Twin Magicians followed by balloon creations.  Pick up a summer reading log and enjoy a variety of free fun activities.  Bring nonperishable items to our Build a Better World Food Drive!

July 7th (10:30 am) Things are getting WILD at the library as we welcome G & G Animals and a bunch of their reptile friends. Bring nonperishable items to our Build a Better World Food Drive!

 July 14th (10:30 am)  Zoo To You.  Animals and zookeepers from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo will visit.  Bring nonperishable items to our Build a Better World Food Drive!

July 17th & August 3rd (10 am)  Oswego Industries    partners with the library in a Kindness Project: Fulton NY Rocks.  Rocks will be painted and distributed around our community to brighten someone's day.

July 20th (10 am) Everson Museum Art Talk and Activity.        Children can learn about the world of art from the staff of the   Everson Museum of Art and create some of their own art.  Space is

Limited. Registration required.

July 21, 28 and August 4th  (10 am) CATCH program.  Learn healthy eating habits while engaging in fun activities like the smoothie bike, games, role playing, and discussions from Cornell Cooperative Extension.

SciExcite Science Program (1 pm): [Tuesdays: Aug 1, 8, 15].  Founded and run by high school students.  The program utilizes fun and visually stimulating experiments .  ( Ages 6+)

August 16:  Summer Reading Finale: World Market (10 am).  Fun demonstrations, games, and crafts from all around the world.  This is the last day to record your reading logs.  We will then randomly select prizewinners and contact the winners.  We also will be     contacting those who earned an invitation to the GAME TRUCK    party.  Bring nonperishable items to our Build a Better World Food Drive!

August 18th:  GAME TRUCK party for those completing the      Summer Reading Program.  Play all the latest video games along with mini golf and other games provided by the library.  By invitation only.  This is a PRIZE for those completing the Summer Reading Program by attending at least 6 events, reading and logging at least 1260 minutes this will earn you a T-shirt.  The T-shirt is your  invitation to play in the Game Truck.  More details to come.  Bring nonperishable items to our Build a Better World Food Drive!
