2020 Teen Summer Reading Program:
Imagine Your Story

Don't use your school email to register; non-school emails don't get through school filters.

Who: Participants have finished 6th through 12th grades.

When: June 12th, 2020 through August 2, 2020.

Where: Farmington Community Library--Both Branches

How: Once registered, you are ready to begin reading, participating, and logging!

You have a couple of options for earning hours to log! You can read (books, ebooks, graphic novels, magazines, newspapers, online stories, etc.), listen (audiobooks), or participate (attend Library programs).

Keep track of how long you spend on each book or activity, then log in to record what, how long, and your reactions to what you read or did. Logging begins Friday, June 12th at 9 p.m. Only activities done after you've registered for the program count.

This year's Memory Aids are create-your-own; decorate a piece of paper to help you keep track of what and how long you've read!  Miss Jennie and Shira are doing the same thing; check out our Memory Aids on our social media.  We'd love to see yours too - email us at teen.scene@farmlib.org or tag @FCLTeenScene!

Also, our Teen Advisory Board came up with a series of challenges to incorporate into your summer.  Check out the "Challenges" tab - how many can you complete?  Use hashtag #FCLSummerChallenges to share pictures or videos from these challenges!  You can also DM or PM us at @FCLTeenScene, and we'll share them on our accounts - or let us know they're for our eyes only.

Speaking of challenges - this year we have a community challenge!  Last year, we cumulatively read 467,727 minutes, which was almost 100,000 more than the year before.  This year's goal is 525,600 - the number of minutes in a full year!

Prizes:
  • Every 5 hours you log earns you an entry into the weekly prize drawings (a selection of $10 gift cards)
  • Your first 30 hours logged earns you a free book from the Scholastic Book Fair, an invitation to the teens-only finale party, and an entry into our Grand Prizes drawing (one of three $100 gift cards)
  • Every 30 hours after that earns you an additional entry into the Grand Prizes drawing
You can only earn a free book one time, and you can only win one weekly prize; winning a weekly prize will not affect your chances in the Grand Prizes drawing.

Hours must be logged by Sunday, August 2, 5:00 p.m. to be in the Grand Prizes Drawing.

The Grand Prizes drawing will be held on Monday, August 3rd. Weekly drawings will be held on Fridays.

This program is generously supported by the Farmington Friends of the Library.
