Join the 2017 Teen Summer Reading Program:
Build a Better World

Who: Participants have finished 6th through 12th grades.

When: June 3rd, 2017 through July 30th, 2017.

Where: Farmington Community Library--Both Branches

How: Once registered, you are ready to begin reading, participating, and logging!

Because our theme this year involves actively making a difference, you have a couple of options for earning hours to log. You can read (books, ebooks, graphic novels, magazines, newspapers, online stories, etc.), listen (audiobooks), participate (attend programs at the Library), or get active in your community (volunteer, help a neighbor, plant a garden, etc.).

Keep track of how long you spend on each book or activity (you can pick up a memory aid at the Library to make it easier), then log in to record what, how long, and your reactions to what you read or did. Logging begins Sunday, June 4th at 9 am. Only activities done after you've registered for the program count.

Also, our Teen Advisory Board came up with a series of challenges to incorporate into your summer.  Check out the "Challenges" tab - how many can you complete?

New challenge! (7/14/17): Our "Voices Heard" Achievement is asking you for your opinion!  Answer a few questions at https://tinyurl.com/FCLTeenSRC17 and let us know what you think of this new Summer Reading format!

Every 5 hours you log is an entry in the weekly prize drawings, and every 30 hours logged is an entry in the Grand Prizes drawing. Plus, logging at least 30 hours earns you a free book from our Scholastic Book Fair and an invitation to the Finale Party!

You may earn more entries into the Prize Drawing by reading additional 30 hours. However, you can only earn a free book one time. You can only win one weekly prize; winning a weekly prize will not affect your chances in the Grand Prizes drawing.

Hours must be logged by Sunday, July 30th, 5:00 p.m. to be in the Grand Prizes Drawing.

The Grand Prizes drawing will be held on Monday, July 31. Weekly drawings will be held on Fridays.

This program is generously supported by the Farmington Friends of the Library.
