2018-10-20 Uke from Scratch: A Ukulele Workshop for Complete Beginners

LOCATION: MEMORIAL ROOM
The ukulele is enjoying renewed popularity with folks young and old. If you thought you'd like to give it a try, but didn't want to invest in an instrument, this workshop is for you. You will learn some basic chords and techniques on a loaned ukulele and you'll soon know if you have the bug or not! Wendy Matthews leads the workshop and brings her family of loaner ukes for participants. The ukulele is a friendly little instrument -- in just an hour or so you will be playing simple tunes. Great fun for all ages -- adults, seniors, and kids ages 10 and up. Space is limited; registration is required.

2018-10-22 Stories Alive for 4's and 5's: Session 2

Stories Alive for 4's and 5's: Session 2
Through stories, music, activities and more, this weekly class helps to develop both the motor and social skills necessary for kindergarten readiness. Children ages 4-5 attend independently, but parent or caregiver must remain in Children’s Room. Class size is limited to 15 children.

In the Fall, there are 2 sessions of Stories Alive.
Session 1 class dates: Sept. 10, 17, & 24; Oct. 1 & 15, 2018
Session 2 class dates: Oct. 22 & 29; Nov 5 & 26; Dec. 3, 2018

Registration is required and is for all five classes in a session. Registration is separate for Session 1 and Session 2. Registration opens on Monday, August 27 for Session 1 and on Tuesday, October 9 for Session 2.

Join our new chess club! We supply the chess boards, you provide the competition. The club will meet weekly for intermediate players who have played the game previously. For players of all ages.

A lapsit program for pre-walking babies with songs, rhymes, and a group reading. Tickets will be handed out 30 minutes before the program begins. Drop-in program.
