PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING UP. Below are a few tips for signing up and using Wandoo Reader. We know this type of Summer Reading Program is very different, so please be patient!
Choose Pre-Reader (Ages 0-6), Children’s (6-12), or Teens (12-18) based on your preference. As in the past, there is overlap between program age groups. We leave you the decision of where you believe your child’s reading level is at. Typically we base off of: going into 1st grade (Children’s) and going into 7th grade (Teen), but it is ultimately your call.
Families do NOT sign up as a “Group.” You will sign up children/adults individually. “Group” is only for designated organizations/daycares.
Having trouble switching between accounts for your children? Log in to the “Family Management Portal.” It will show who the “owner” of the account is and who else is registered under the same email. For ease of use, you can then hit the green arrow “>” next to the child’s name.
Hit “View Details”
From this page, you will be able to look at and review challenges, books, awards, general stats, etc. You can complete challenges from this side for the children as well instead of logging in individually for each child.
There are different “difficulties” for each program. They do NOT affect how you win prizes or the pace at which you are required to read. It simply affects the game mechanics (when you receive in-game prompts). Overall, it doesn’t affect anything in the way of how we determine anything about your progress. When in doubt, choose the “easy” setting.
Each week you complete your required minimum of challenges and submit it, your name will be entered AGAIN for the weekly prize drawings, which we will draw at the END of the summer.
After completing your minimum amount of minutes, your name will automatically be submitted to the grand prize drawing, which will be drawn, as usual, at the end of the summer.
