Complete challenge activities, like reading or coming to Library events, and earn free prizes!

Earning Prizes
To get started, go to the Challenges page and start doing the activities listed there. You will earn a prize once you have completed activities in the "Earn a Prize" challenge 10, 25, and 45 times. You can mix and match activities however you like: do a little of everything, just read, or pick your favorites. Be sure to click "Complete Challenge" for each time you read 20 minutes, even if you already logged your reading through the homepage or reading page!

Extra Prizes
You can earn extra prizes by completing the "Extra Credit" and "Write a Book Review" challenges!

Prize Drawings
Once you complete "Earn a Prize: Level 3," all of your reading, activities, and bonus challenges earn you entries into our end-of-summer prize drawings! To enter the prize drawings, find the "Prize Drawing" challenges and click "Complete Challenge" for any (and all) prize drawings you would like to enter. (If you don't submit any of the Prize Drawing challenges, you will not be entered in any prize drawings.)

Build a Better Avatar
You can also track you're reading using the online log, which will unlock new parts for your avatar in the quest to build a better world. Any reading you log will also earn you entries into the end-of-summer prize drawings.

Be sure to log all of your reading and activities and pick up all of your prizes by the end of the day August 22, 2017!

2017-10-22 Inspired Performances: Jim Coppoc and Reggie Greenlaw

Local musicians will play live music and talk about the artists that inspired them.

Jim Coppoc plays a blend of Travis picking, Carter Scratch and other traditional fingerstyle elements that blend into a full, articulate guitar sound all his own. Coppoc will be joined by members of Cody Road and Disappearing Songs Project.

Reggie Greenlaw will play a variety of country rock, country folk, roots, and alternative country genres. Think The Birds, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, and Johnny Cash.

Audience members may enter a drawing to win two free tickets to see Bumper Jacksons as part of the Stephens Auditorium 2017-2018 Performing Arts Series.

Provided in partnership with Ames Public Library, Stephens Auditorium 2017-2018 Performing Arts Series, and KHOI Community Radio with support from the Ames Public Library Friends Foundation.
