Start your summer reading adventure!  Pre-sign up begins June 1. Our program officially begins June 10. That's when you can start logging your reading and come to the library for a free book for registering and pick up a log sheet at the library. All of the programs start on June 10 & run through August 12. If you have questions or need assistance, call the library at 603-352-0157.


To sign up online, you will need the email of a parent or guardian. If your parent or guardian does not have an email address, you will need to signup in the library. Once signed up, kids will keep track of the time they read or listen to books & they will earn bonus points for attending library programs & completing games & tasks online & in the community. Any & all kinds of reading counts! 

We have four separate programs (Very Young KidsSchool Age KidsTeens, and Adults). You can choose the one that fits you best. By logging minutes read, events attended, and challenges/activities completed, you earn chances to win library and Bruins prizes, digital badges and certificates, and special invitations from local organizations.

REGISTERING TIPS
  1. If you registered last summer, you can use the same username and password. If you are a new user or do not recall last summer’s info, create a new username and password!  Passwords require at least 5 characters and are case sensitive. Once you are registered, you will receive a confirmation email. SAVE IT!   
  2. Please enter your school and the grade that you will be in during the fall of 2017. Remember, the lucky school with the most registrants will their name engraved on our traveling trophy.

NEW THIS YEAR: 
Parents/guardians can access all of their children's accounts from a single log-in using the Family Registration function.

CHALLENGES:
Summer challenges will be found under the CHALLENGES tab or at the Keene Library.  Each challenge has a description and completion instructions!

PRIZES:
By logging minutes read, events attended, and challenges/activities completed, you earn chances to win library and Bruins prizes, digital badges and certificates, and special invitations from local organizations. All prizes and free books are available as supplies last.

Events

2017-09-20 Preschool Storytime

Preschool storytimes are geared towards pre-kindergarteners ages 3 to 5 who can sit and listen to short stories and participate in simple songs and rhymes. Storytime will always include read-aloud stories and fingerplays and may include poems, music, dramatic play, and crafts. 

This is an eight-week series, which ends the week of Nov.  3. When you sign up for one class, you will automatically be registered for each class in the series.

Photo Release: All library patrons consent to the use of their photographs, which may be taken at the library or during library events unless they specifically inform staff of an objection to such use. Photos may be used in print, broadcast, and web publicity. Please check the box on the sign-up form and inform a staff member if you do not wish to have your picture taken.

2017-09-20 Afterschool Movie Matinee: Power Rangers

POWER RANGERS follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world - is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. 2017-09-21 Open Play: Games @ your library!

Open Play is just that. It is all gaming!  And, gaming of any kind; whether it is board games, card games, video games, big games, role-playing games, or any other kind of game you can imagine, we'll play it.  Each week, we'll provide a different variety of games for you to play; we welcome you to bring in your own games to share with the group.

Drop-in Knitting and Crocheting is for adults and kids. Whether you're new to knitting or an old pro, this club is for you. Bring a project that you are working on or one that you would like help with.  Assistance is available for those wishing to learn new skills or to improve existing ones.

2017-09-23 Saturday Stories and More

This drop-in storytime takes place each Saturday that the library is open. The storytime will include stories, songs, finger plays, and sometimes simple crafts. The storytime is appropriate for children of all ages and their parents or caregivers.
